THINK ABOUT QUALITY




Use the treadmill for your quality workouts, such as progressive races or fartleks. For progressive races, Nick Rana recommends starting at a really smooth pace and gradually increasing the speed.

I start running at 12 kilometers per hour and arrive at 20 kilometers per hour, in the course of between 60 and 90 minutes or from a distance of between 15 and 16 kilometers, he explains. For fartleks, recommend warming up at a gentle pace, then striving for one or two minutes with one or two minutes at a gentle pace in between.

APPRECIATE YOUR OWN SUPPLY STATION


One of the advantages of treadmills is that you can fill the panel in front of you with food and liquids. You do not have to load anything that affects your time, or leave things strategically placed on the route, waiting for them to be there when you arrive , says Nick Rana.

Also, you can train your system to eat and drink fluids, more consistently on the treadmill . This will be very useful on the day of the race, especially if the distance you are going to run requires a refueling.

LEARN TO LOVE IT


When you learn to just be on the treadmill , there will not be many excuses left over for not training , says Nick Rana. Running in the band frees you from many distractions and variables that can interfere with your way of moving or your career, which allows you to really connect with your body.

I like to focus on my stride, rhythm and breathing when I run on the treadmill , he adds. If possible, I run in front of a mirror to make sure that my arm is efficient. When I started running I had a terrible way. Over the years and through practice on the treadmill , I have become a more efficient runner.
